Major Bottling Plant HV and LV upgrade

ARA were awarded the design for the HV and LV supply upgrade which continued through to a complete implementation. A separate contract was awarded for the building light and power electrical installation.

The key elements of the project were:

  • HV modifications to the existing HV switchboard
  • Specifying and installing a new RMU with protection
  • Relocating, refurbishing and testing two of 2MVA transformers
  • LV modelling of supply requirements
  • Detailed Earthing design with a step and touch potential analysis
  • Detailed protection report with appropriate setting requirements
  • Specifying a new main switchboard after all alternative options were exhausted
  • Procurement, factory acceptance test, installation, test and commissioning of a new main switchboard
  • Installation of replacement HV mains
  • Installation of LV mains and submains to all supply points including necessary cable support and mechanical protection
