Major HV upgrade – Design and Construct
REFCL 6MVA Isolation Transformer Installation -ARA generated the necessary site assessment report for submission to the government and ESV to address private network overhead line management issues associated with Bushfire risks.
Leading on from this Holcim chose to install an Isolation transformer to protect their assets from damage during REFCL operation periods (Bushfire months).
ARA were awarded the design and construction contract for this 22kV.
The key elements of the project were:
- Engineering
o Civil design of new HV transformer foundation yard
o Specifications of a new 6MVA 22kV/22kV DyN11 transformer kiosk
o Detailed HV Earthing design including step and touch potential analysis
o Detailed HV protection report with appropriate setting requirements
o HV and LV modelling of supply cabling requirements
o Designing, supplying and commissioning a Schneider T300 remote switching facility
- Site installation
o Supervision of civil works required for the transformer foundation
o Installation of 6MVA Transformer
o Installation of all HV cabling.
o Installation of all Earthing
- Commissioning
o Mandatory HV and LV testing including earthing step & touch and Insulation resistance.
o Protection relay setting input and testing of 22kV switchboard and RMU operation.
o Third party inspection and issuing of Prescribed Certificates of Electrical Safety
o As built drawing and testing package submission to Jemena.
